L2L | Feedback

From a Grade 8 student:
"I have learned patience. I know how to use both concrete and verbal ways of teaching and just to be an encouraging person."

From a teacher liaison:
"I can't think of a better way to get extra help."

From a High School student:
"I think this program is great. PTO (now L2L) gives me an opportunity to learn how to teach others with patience. By helping my peer to achieve her goal, I, personally, feel so grateful. After 5 sessions, she began to get 70 in her writing pieces."

From a school:
"Without the program the teachers felt that the students would not have been able to complete their assignments. Because they had their assignments completed, they were able to participate in the class discussions the following day. This improved their self-confidence and behaviour in class.

In addition, parents of these children were grateful that our school offered this program because it allowed their children the opportunity receive extra support.

Tutors involved in the program felt engaged and connected to these students because they took ownership with regards to their peer's development. In addition, these tutors developed their leadership and communication skills - both oral and written. Furthermore, these tutors felt part of the greater (school) community through their volunteer efforts.

Once this session was complete, other students voluntarily gave up their lunch period to help assist peers."
