Winston S.L. Kassim, C.M., MBA, ICD.D
Winston Kassim C.M. is currently providing specialized management consulting services to Financial Services, private and global not-for-profit companies. Winston retired in December, 2015 from RBC as the executive Head for strategy and strategic performance management after more than 35 years service. He served in various businesses within RBC and was on the Board of the Directors for its Caribbean subsidiary, Royal Bank of Canada Barbados Limited. He currently serves as 1) editorial board member for London based Retail Banker International 2) Director for Private Companies and 3) and sits on the International Advisory Council of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship after serving on its board from 2011-2018.
In 2009, Winston was recognized as a member of the Order of Canada for his extensive 30 plus years of volunteer services in community involvement, economic development and advocacy for groups and individuals (including advocating to the Canadian Government for the honorary citizenship of Nelson Mandela). During this time, he played an instrumental role in establishing several faith-based community centres that provide outreach services focusing on newcomers to Canada. In June 2012, Winston was recognized with The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal. Winston is a past chair of the International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF), having served for four years ending in 2014 when the charity was recognized as one of the top 25 Canadian charities in Canada (out of 86,000 registered charities) by the Financial Post. He currently serves on IDRF’s executive committee as its Chair for Global Monitoring.
He serves on the Board of Directors at Licensed to Learn. Winston holds an MBA from Athabasca University and is a Certified Corporate Director (ICD.D) as a graduate from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
